GLP-1s have expanded their reach into society since they were first approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for weight loss. Since then, many telehealth services might offer cheaper alternatives that are not FDA-approved, such as compounded medications.

Novo Nordisk, a healthcare company, created an online pharmacy that offers direct-to-consumer access to some of their FDA-approved GLP-1s, called NovoCare Pharmacy. In this review, we discuss which medications this service offers, how to get started, and its cost.

NovoCare Pharmacy is a legitimate website created by Novo Nordisk that offers savings, guidance, and direct-to-consumer delivery of certain medications. Novo Nordisk launched this platform in early 2025, providing people with access to authentic, FDA-approved medications at a more affordable price for those paying cash.

In addition to providing FDA-approved medications, NovoCare Pharmacy offers multiple savings programs and resources for folks who are managing conditions like diabetes, obesity, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), women’s health, growth-related disorders, hemophilia and bleeding disorders, and primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1).

After your healthcare professional sends a prescription to NovoCare, the platform will assign a case manager who will help you navigate insurance, any savings opportunities, and any guidance you may need while you’re taking the medication.

NovoCare Pharmacy is currently available only for Wegovy and Ozempic prescriptions.

For the other conditions listed above, NovoCare offers support such as resources, case manager assistance, and more for patients that require its medication. Case managers are available from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. EST to 8 p.m. EST, to answer any questions.

Diabetes treatments

NovoCare offers 10 different treatments for diabetes care. While only Ozempic is eligible for home delivery, the pharmacy also offers various savings programs and an insurance coverage tool for the following medication:

  • Fiasp (insulin aspart) injection
  • NovoLog (insulin aspart) injection
  • NovoLog Mix (insulin aspart protamine and insulin aspart) injectable suspension
  • NovoPen Echo
  • Rybelsus (semaglutide) tablets
  • Tresiba (insulin degludec) injection
  • Victoza (liraglutide) injection
  • Xultophy (insulin degludec and liraglutide) injection
  • Zegalogue (dasiglucagon) injection

Obesity, MASH, growth-related disorders, and PH1 treatments

For obesity treatments, NovoCare offers two treatments: Wegovy and Saxenda. Wegovy is also available as a treatment for MASH. Only Wegovy is available for home delivery via NovoCare Pharmacy.

The pharmacy offers Sogroya and Norditropin injections for any growth-related disorders. Both of these injections include a man-made version of the human growth hormone, somatotropin, that is naturally occurring in the human body. Neither of these injections are available for home delivery.

Primary hyperoxaluria type 1, or PH1, is a rare genetic condition that can cause high oxalate levels in the urine. This could increase the chance of kidney stones and potential kidney failure. Rivfloza is an injection that helps lower oxalate levels in people 2 years old and older. This prescription is not available for the direct-to-consumer pharmacy.

Bleeding disorder treatments and women’s health

NovoCare has six different treatments for blood-related disorders like hemophilia A or B and congenital Factor VII (FVII). Each injection aims to prevent, reduce, or control any episodes of bleeding in adults or children over 12. To learn more about NovoCare’s available treatments for bleeding disorders, visit its product page for more details.

NovoCare also offers one product that could help people with a vagina experiencing postmenopausal side effects. The goal of this insert is to replenish any estrogen lost during menopause.

To get started with NovoCare Pharmacy, you need to have a prescription from a healthcare professional for one of the two medications the platform can ship directly to your home: Wegovy or Ozempic.

If you don’t have a prescription, NovoCare directs you to two telehealth platforms, 9amHealth and FormHealth, that can help determine if Wegovy or Ozempic is a good fit for you. If you prefer to see someone in person, NovoCare directs you to our sister website, Healthgrades, to find a healthcare professional near you.

After you have your prescription, all you have to do is ask your healthcare professional to send it to NovoCare Pharmacy. From there, you’ll receive text updates or a phone call with instructions on how to set up your account, how to pay, and to schedule your delivery.

Though NovoCare Pharmacy does offer direct-to-home shipping, you also have the option to transfer your prescription to your local pharmacy for pick up.

CoAssist Pharmacy and CenterWell Pharmacy are both licensed, third-party dispensing pharmacies that work with NovoCare Pharmacy to fulfill prescriptions, manage refills, track orders, and send shipments. You may receive texts or emails from either of these third-party pharmacies to keep you up-to-date as they handle the delivery of your prescription.

If you need help with a medication, refill, shipment, or any other matter at any point in time, NovoCare Pharmacy has Case Managers who can guide you through the process. They are available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. EST to 8 p.m. EST.

Insulin costs

There are a few different options available for those who need insulin. Based on your eligibility and its restrictions, the program MyInsulinRx can provide insulin for as little as $35 per month for any combination of Novo Nordisk products. There are also savings offers for each NovoCare prescription available on its website. Again, you need to be eligible for each savings offer before claiming it.

If you are uninsured, underinsured, or have Medicare, you may be eligible for Novo Nordisk’s Patient Assistant Program. This program requires you to apply and determine eligibility. If you qualify, you may receive free medication from Novo Nordisk and NovoCare.

NovoCare also offers an Immediate Supply solution for those who are at risk of rationing or have an urgent need for insulin. This offer is a one-time option that provides a short-term supply of Novo Nordisk insulin. After you sign up for this offer, you have 30 days to use it before it expires.

NovoCare also offers additional resources to help folks find a long-term solution for more affordable insulin, such as lower-cost human insulin or unbranded biologics.

Savings offers

The other treatments NovoCare offers on its website do not have as robust savings plans as insulin. However, growth-related disorder treatments, bleeding disorders treatments, and PH1 treatments all qualify for savings offers based on your private or commercial insurance.

To get or check your eligibility for this offer, you must input your insurance information, contact information, and healthcare professional’s information to see if you qualify for the savings offer.
